Has the gay movement already succeeded in liberating themselves?

In the past half-century, there have been to some degrees changes in how people view s. When in the 1940s and 1950s the idea of "coming out" hasn't even been considered, we can see now that people are much more accepting of the LGBT sector. Do you think this is enough? Do you think it is too much when the LGBT ask for certain privileges above the straight population? What is the ideal end where uals can say "it has been done"?
