Why is my baby SO HUNGRY?

My daughter is 4 weeks old and she has been awake for 4 1/2 hours and has ate almost 10 oz. Is this normal. I thought maybe she just wanted to suck so I gave her a pacifier but she just screamed. I know she is hungry and its not something else bc when I was holding her she was sucking on my shoulder.
